Polaroids de HOW MUCH CAN YOU TELL ABOUT US?

Drawing inspiration from the work of photographers such as Adrienne Salinger, whose “In My Room” series captured the essence of teenage life in the 1990s, and Ryan McGinley, known for his raw and authentic depictions of youth culture, I sought to create a body of work that, through the use of two different photographic mediums (analog and polaroid photography), appealed to the notion of identity in different ways.
In this way, based on the immediacy and separation of each individual from their space, my use of the Polaroid offers a more analytical view of how much identity we can achieve when we are given zero context about who a person might be.
While the nature of the bedroom portraits invites viewers to connect on a more intimate and personal level, the Polaroids suggest a multitude of character associations, leaving room for potential conflicts and identity clashes.
